Ever wanted to watch a masala movie that did not need a boundary of language to understand it? This is one of them with plenty of rib-tickling scenes, dance-worthy songs, and catchphrases (eda mone, viral dance after bath).
The reasons why I liked the movie
Acting over anything
Needless to mention about Fahadh, there are not many movies he does in this genre but when he starred in it then he did hit out of the park. Amban makes a mark here, running a commentary for each flashback, fighting for Ranga in the blink of an eye, laughing and crying with him. The three college students were also given enough space in the movie and they made complete use of the opportunity. All of these actors do justice to the characters and keep us hooked. The premise is straightforward, three college kids want to take revenge on their seniors but that is where acting prowess comes into play which makes sure that we watch them in this journey of revenge for more than 120 minutes.
The masala movie
We like good masala movies, now and then, don't we? But there is a fine line, where the viewers do not get bored with the same theme without innovation, boring dialogues, and dull acting. Aavesham does miles better. It uses the set theme but the director does not stop himself to tweak things around.
Dialogues
The movie relied heavily on dialogues as Fahadh kept moving from a jolly good mood to an emotional one. Flashbacks had a lot of commentary from Ranga’s right hand Amban. The kids and the audiences were kept on the hook that is Ranga a gangster or hype is created around him. Dialogues made this possible. Various scenes are about conversation, be it among the three kids, in the college, or at the bar. And dialogues make sure that we keep an ear to it.
Masala Songs
The songs are loud but support the movie and the theme of it. Some of them are catchy and dance-worthy. Illuminati/Armadham are noteworthy with easy dance steps (I must say) and they are so catchy.
Have fun watching the movie, laugh or cry at Ranga's life story and his heartbreak.
